Uttarakhand Vishnuprayag
The water reservoir also named as Vishnu Prayag is located in Chamoli district of Uttara Khand state of India. The geographical coordinates of this water point are 30.34°N 79.34°E and average altitudinal height of this dam is 1372 meters from mean sea level. This dam is located on the Alaknanda River on the main route connecting Joshimath with Badrinath.
History
According to geographical location and origin of Alaknanda River, this river originates from the snow clad hills of Chowkhambha mountain peak where a vast and huge deposit of snow is found always. On the way of this River, one of the holy temple of Badrinath falls. This temple has religious importance for the Hindu population across the world. At another places named Mana, Alaknananda river meet with River Saraswati and flows towards eastern side. After crossing Badrinath temple, this river also meets with Dahauli Ganga River. In this area, this river called as Vishnu Ganga where it is believed that saint Vishnu meditated for a long time in this place. The credit to establish a Vishnu Temple on the bank of this river goes to Maharani of Indore – Maharani Ahilyabai.
Technical Portion
The Hydro Electric plant located at this place has a capacity of 40MV power production. Two small units have been established at this power plant with a capacity of 20 MV of each unit. Water supply has no problem. During rainy season, production of electricity rises as the water force and supply increased. To regulate the discharge of water, 10 gates have been created in form of a barrage. More than 327 CUSEC water is consumed by each unit of this plant. Natural support (slope, force of water, and direction) is very useful in production and thus the target production of 409MW is never diminishes. This project has been taken over by JAYPEE group of Industries. The exact location of this project is near hanuman Chatti.

Badrinath Temple
This temple is one of the Char Dhams in Hindu religion. The temple established here is dedicated to Lord Vishnu. This temple is located at an altitude of 3133 meters from mean sea level.
Auli: This place is famous for adventurous activities like skiing and Paragliding. There are some mesmerizing views of Great Himalayan peaks. In this place, there is a cable car which connects with Joshimath is the longest way in Asia.
Valley of Flowers National Park: This beautiful valley is located at 16 kilometers trekking distance from Govind Ghat. In the valley, a lot of varieties of flowers are naturally spread over. During 1982, this valley has been given the status of National park.
Chopta: This place is also known as Mini Switzerland due to its amazing beauty and large snow clad slopes for Skiing and located at 117 kilometers from Vishnu Prayag.
Kagbhushandi Lake: This is also a visiting place near Vishnu Prayag.
