Ap State Archeology Museum Hyderabad
The Museum of Archeology of AP State also called as Hyderabad Museum is situated in the city of Hyderabad in India. This site was at first explored by the famous Archeologist Mr.Henry Cousens in the starting of the Nineteenth Century. Near about 1940 the mountain was dug under the supervision and the control of the Hyderabad Nizam. All the items excavated were placed on the ancient site in the museum. All the contents of the museum in 1952 were shifted to the current site that is under the supervision and the control of the India’s Archaeological survey. This is only the museum in India that embodies the Ajanta paintings’ reproductions.
History
The Museum of Archeology of AP State also called as Hyderabad Museum is situated in the city of Hyderabad in India that got inaugurated in 1930 in public gardens called as Nampally during the period of the Hyderabad state’s last Nizam named as Mir Osman Ali Khan. Egyptian mumy is the main attraction of this museum that was gifted by the 6th Nizam’s Son in law named as Mehboob Ali Khan to Nizam Mir Osman Ali Khan who was the last Nizam of Hyderabad. A gallery based on Buddha is also present in this museum and also huge gathering of archeological artefacts also present there.
This State Museum has been established in the palace that was built in year 1864 in the Nampally’s Public Garden. This palace was built by the Nizam and also this palace is known as “Doll’s House” because Nizam built this palace for his daughter, but his daughter did not reside in this palace as because of some superstition. Various Ajanta paintings were reproduces here only in the museum of AP State Archeology in whole country. The documental department of this museum has a Quran copy that has a seal given by the Emperor Shah Jahan.Collections
Nizam Mehbub Ali Khan’s son-in law brought a mummy from Egypt to Hyderabad that is the basic center of attraction in this museum. He donates this mummy to the Mir Osman Ali Khan who was the last Nizam. He bought this mummy with worthless amount of 1000 pounds as given by a report.
Exhibitions
This museum has a great collection of Buddha from past centuries. Also there is lots of collection of archeological artifacts from the Kakatiya Dynasty Nizam.

Timings and Ticket Prices
This museum is opened all the days except for Friday in a week. The timings for morning and evening to visit this museum are 10:00 am up to 5:00 pm. The months of October and February are the suitable time to visit this museum.
