Andhra Pradesh Prasanna Anjaneeya Swamy Temple
Prasanna Anjaneeya Swamy temple is approximately 100 years old and located in Krishna district of Andhra Pradesh. Specialty of this temple is the facing of the idol. It is believed that the idol of lord Hanuman is most powerful worship place when facing south. Such worshippers gained a lot of prosperity and courage. This condition is depicted in Agam Shastra; and also a handbook of temple construction patterns. This temple is located at approximately 60 kilometers distance from nearby city Vijayawada and has a good connectivity through rail and road.
History
It is told in local public that at the time of renovation of this temple, a rain disturbance occurred and continued till a long time. All the surrounding area was flooded but the temple premise was dry and there was not even a drop of water. Since then it is believed that lord Hanuman did not want to disturb his devotees. Though, not being too old, the exact date of construction is still missing and only the approximate determination of the construction period is mentioned in the various books.
Architecture
This temple is simply constructed and the traditional Dravidian pattern is ignored. The construction pattern has the effect of European constructional style. Front portion of the temple has a Gopuram located at a small distance. The same is built on a square shaped base and has a height of twelve ft. The conical Gopuram has the slope and dimensions equal from all sides. On each side of the Gopuram a large black stone is fitted followed by another black slate like spot over the bigger. Main temple is based on pillars and looks like a Roman installation. An 8ft wide verandah is in surrounding the main Garbhagriha. Roof of the temple is simply constructed without any carving. A normal boundary wall on the roof is erected with the moldings. Base of the temple is made of marble and has three entry gates but generally front gate is being used.
Festivals
Main festival conducted at this temple is Hanuman Jayanti. This festival is celebrated on the 10th day of Poornima according to Hindu calendar. On this occasion Abhishekam to Lord Hanuman is done with full devotion and dedication.

This temple is based on a coastal area and thus all type of conveyance is available to access the location.
By Air
Gannavarm is the nearest airport located near 70 kilometers from this temple. Road connections are easy and conveyances are available to reach the temple.
By Rail
Nearest railway station to this temple is Machilipatanam and the same is located on a loop line to the Vizag and Vijayawada main train line. The station is well linked with other cities of the country. Road conveyances are available to reach the temple location.
By Road
This temple is connected to various national and state highways for easy access. National highway number 9 which is re-numbered as (NH-65) and National highway no-214A is also connected to this temple location. APSRTC buses and private taxies are easily available to reach this temple.
