Bihar Sun Temple
The lords who are displayed in the temple has a certain meaning such as Lord Brahma represents the rising sun, Lord Mahesh or Shiva depicts the hot or scorching sun and Lord Vishnu represents the sun sets. This is the reason that it’s known as Trikal Surya. The temple is unique in its style and cannot be found elsewhere. As per the priests of the temple, it has been seeing since Treta Yuga, the time of Lord Rama. However, the archaeological evidence shows that it was constructed during 10th of century.
History
According to record, the area of Deo is an important historical place which is founded by Umgq emperors. The area was ruled by King Prabi Singh who set up state Deo during the 17th century. It is a known fact that the area is world-famous of its Surya Mandir or sun temple. However, Chhat Puja as well as Chhat Puja of Kartik is also famous here. According to legend, the rulers of Sisodia constructed this temple during 10th to 17th of century. The Surya mandir is simple is its style yet it is considered as the most important religious places of the country. According to Hindu mythology, Surya Deva or sun God is the source of all kind of energy or power hence if devotees worship him during the Chhat festival they would be bestowed with best fortune. This is the main reason, during the festival of Chhat Puja that comes in Kartik month (October –November) the temple become a place of devotees. Devotees all around the country visit here to offer Chhat Puja and have blessings of Trikal Surya.
How to Reach
By Air
Devotees or visitors who like to reach at Surya Mandir by using air-transport can easily find direct flight to Patna city. However, the nearest airport is Gaya airport. Visitors can get direct flight to this airport from all the major airports of the country.
By Rail
It is a known fact that Patna city is a capital of state Bihar thus it is well linked with all other cities or towns of the country by railway networks. The nearest railway station is situated at Anugrah Narayan Street.
By Road
The temple is situated only 8 km to southern of NH2 highway, between Gaya and Varanasi. Hence, visitors or devotees can use road-based transportation to get there.
Weather and Time to Visit
The weather temperature of Patna city ranges from 17 degree Celsius to 32 degree Celsius in summer and 19 degree Celsius to 29 degree Celsius in winter. However, temperature can be changeable throughout the year. Hence the best time to visit at Sun temple between Octobers to March. However, devotees or visitors can also visit here during the Chhat Puja.
