Chhattisgarh Dudhadhari Math
Mahant Shri Balbhadra dasji established this Math however the date of his Raipur stay is still not clear. It is said that Shri Balbhadra was highly devoted to Lord Hanuman. During his stay in Raipur, he used to worship a stone as if it was Lord Mahaveer himself.
History
When comes to its history so there is still no proper evidence of its construction’s date however, it is said that it was constructed by king Raghu Rao Bhosle , the king, during 1610 AD. The renowned Dudhadhari Math or temple got its name from its original founder Balbhadra Mahant who was considered as a Dudha Ahari, means person who takes only milk as food.
There is an interesting story behind it. When Balbhadra Mahant, a great devotee of Sankat Mochan came to Raipur, he began worshiping a stone as though it was Lord Mahaveeer himself. Meanwhile, a cow, named Surhi would come and bathed that sacred stone with milk. Mahantji drank that milk and became a Dudh Ahari, means a person who takes only milk as food. That’s why it’s called Dudhadhari Math.

By Air
If you have planned to visit at Dudhadhari Math or temple by using air-transport then you can easily get flight from any domestic airport throughout the country. however, some of the nearest airports are Raipur airport only 14 km, Jabalpur airport around 265 km and Sonegaon airport about 299 km distance from Dudhadhari Math.
By Rail
It is a known fact that district Raipur is well connected with all major cities or towns of the Chhattisgarh state by railway networks. Some of the nearest railway stations are Raipur junior railway station only 2 km, Saraswati Nagar railway station around 3 km and WRS colony railway station about 4 km distance from Dudhadhari Math or temple.
By Road
If visitors or pilgrims want to visit at Dudhadhari Math by using roadways then they can easily find road-transport such as buses, taxis and cabs across the state.
Weather and Time to Visit
Raipur city holds changeable climate temperature thus during the winters, the city remains cold while in summers it remains hot and scorching. When it comes to monsoon, it has good monsoon during the month of July. So the best time to visit at Dudhadhari Math is from the months of October to March. However, visitors or pilgrims can also visit at Dudhadhari Math or temple during all Hindu religious festivals.
