Delhi Bhairav Temple
According to the Hindu mythology, when Lord Brahma asked Vishnu to worship him as he was the fundamental energy of the universe then God Shiva took the incarnation of lord Bhairav and cut off Brahma’s fifth head. So since then Lord Brahma has only four heads. However, after cutting off Brahma’s head, lord Shiva felt guilty being a sin of Brahmapap.
History
However, there is no proper evidence regarding its construction date yet it is believed that it was built by Pandavas of Mahabharata era. The temple attracts cult people who want to gain spiritual or super natural power. According to the Hindu mythology, Bheema, the prince and one of the brothers of Pandavas worshiped lord Bhairav at this place in order to gain Siddhi or spiritual power. The temple was built during the Mahabharata era and it can be clearly found in its name Pandava Kaleen Sri Kilkariji Bhairav Mandir or temple. However, there are important two temples adjacent to Purana Quila and both of them are devoted to lord Shiva as lord Bhairav. The major attraction of this sacred temple is a concrete built Nandi or sacred cow at the temple. During Mahashivratri, a festival devoted to lord Shiva or Bhairav, visitors or devotees all around the country visit here to have sacred Darshan of Bhairav.

By Air

By Rail or Train
Visitors can get direct train route to Delhi from various railway stations in the country.
By Road
Regular local vehicles such as buses, cabs and taxis connect Delhi to all other neighbouring cities or towns of the country. Hence, visitors can also use road-transportation to reach at the temple.
Weather and Time to Visit
Delhi city has tropical climate conditions. It means, during summers it becomes hot and scorching and temperature rises to 39 to 47 degree Celsius while in winters temperature could drop down to 20 to 1 degree Celsius. However, monsoon usually occurs in the month of July and offers good rainfalls.
So the best time to visit here from the month of October to March. However, Shiva followers can also visit during the festival of Mahashivratri.
