Maharashtra Panchganga Temple
Panchganga is considered among the sacred places in Mahabaleshwar. The area wherein the temple is situated is a meeting point of five rivers such as Krishna, Koyna, Gayatri, Venna and Savitri thus it called Panchganga. Remember, Pancha means five and Ganga means river. Moreover, the five rivers come out of a stone-made cow. Hence, Panchganga is considered not only a sacred worship place but also a miracle place.
History
According to legend the temple was constructed thousands years ago by divine power. However, the current temple was reconstructed by great Maratha ruler Shivaji during 16th of century. Moreover, according to another theory the temple was constructed by king Singhandeo who was a Yadav king of state Devgiri during the 13th century. It is a known fact that present temple is completely designed in Maratha style of architecture thus most of the historians considered it as a piece of Maratha architecture. The major attraction of the temple is its deity who is made of black stone. Moreover, the temple is also famous for celebrating all the Hindu festivals.
Weather and time to visit
Mahabaleshwar city is famous for its evergreen climate condition thus the city can be visited throughout the year. However, the best time to visit Panchganga temple is from the month of March to October.

Lohegaon airport is the nearest airport situated only 85 km distance from Panchganga temple. However, some of the closest railway stations are including Diwan Khavati railway station, Veer Railway station, Khed railway station and Karanjadi railway station. Hence, from airport or railway station, visitors or pilgrims can easily hire bus, cab and taxis to reach at the sacred temple.
