Maharashtra Sri Ramakrishna Temple
There are several Sri Ramakrishna temples established throughout the country. Mumbai city also houses many Ramakrishna temples and sacred Sri Ramakrishna temple of Khar is among one of them. The motto of establishing this temple is to spread sacred teachings and discourses of Saint Ramakrishna Paramhansa. History
The saint Swami Shivananda, who was one of the great disciples of Saint Ramakrishna Paramhansa, established various Ramakrishna temples in the city of Mumbai. The renowned Sri Ramakrishna temple in Khar was also constructed by Swami Shivananda. The temple was completed on December 26 in the year of 1926. The renowned Swami Shivananda dedicated the temple and Ashram to saint Ramakrishna Paramhansa. He also installed an idol of Saint Ramakrishna Paramhansa in the centre of the temple. The temple is known for different kind of worships, devotional music, lectures, feasting and prayers. The main objective of establishing this sacred temple is to introduce Mumbai citizens regarding the teachings and discourses of great mystic saint Swami Ramakrishna Paramhansa.
Weather and time to visit
Mumbai city is famous for its uncertain raining. Hence, the best time to visit the temple is from the month of March to October. However, devotees can also visit during the festival season.
