Odisha Chandaneswar Temple
The Chandaneswar Temple is a famous temple located in Balasore, Orissa. It is famous for worshipping Lord Shiva. The holy shrine of Lord Shiva makes it a highly religious centre not only for the people of Orissa and West Bengal, but also for people from many other parts of India. Though the temple is visited in large numbers on daily basis, the unique sight during Chadak Mela for a darshan of the Lord is wonderful.
History
The exact history associated with the holy temple is not known, but it is often believed that the shrine originated on its own. Since then, it has been constructed into a temple and is worshipped by large numbers of devotees.

Transportation facility available is to Jaleswara in Orissa from Digha in West Bengal. You can also reach Balasore by train and access the temple through auto rickshaw. However, it is only 6 km from Digha and 90km from Balasore.
Event Associated with Temple
A huge annual fair is celebrated on the premises of the temple on the first day of the Oriya calendar. It attracts large numbers of devotees to visit the temple during this time. In fact, people do fasting for several days during this time to get their wishes fulfilled.
