Guptesvara Siva Temple is located in Bhubaneswar, Orissa, India. Bhubaneswar was known as Kapileswara in old times. It was built in the 14-15th century A.D. This temple is famous for its Linga. People pray to lord Shiva and offer Bili Patras on the divine and holy linga in the morning time.
In this temple, devotees worship to Lord Shiva as the ultimate incarnation and the creator. The linga is located in the centre of the temple in a circular shape. At present time, the local people of the village manage its beauty by forming a Kapilesvara Temple Trust Board.
History
Guptesvara Siva Temple is very ancient. It is believed that it was constructed in the 14th century A.D. The stone used in building this marvelous Shiva temple is of Light Gray sandstone and the famous and popular Kalingan style architecture was applied to make it solid and strong.

Guptesvara Siva Temple represents ancient Indian architectural. It was built in Kalinga technique. Also, they had used the dry masonry style. The temple has a rectangular chamber. This temple has all the similarities that other Indian temples have like vimana pidha, gandi, trianga and bada.

The nearby villagers and the devotees gather here and celebrate for the whole day. There is a belief amongst the people that the temple was believed to the period of Gajapati.
