Jagannath Temple at Nayagarh is an ancient reminiscence of Hindu deities. The temple was constructed between 1788 and 1808 A.D. The king Vinayak Singh Mandhata came forward to start the construction work. In this temple, there are three idols of Lord Jagannath, Devi Subhadra and Lord Balabhadra.
Lord Jagannath is also known as Dadhi Vanana in this temple. The devotees spend their time praying and singing devotional songs in remembrance of Lord Jagannath. He is the Lord of Universe. Also, the famous Rath Yatra takes place every year. People participate in the procession and celebrate the car festival.
History
Jagannath Temple of Nayagarh, Odisha dates its history back to 17th century A.D. It is believed that the 120 feet sanctum was built by the King Vinayak. He passed away and then the remaining work was done by his son the king Brajbandhu. He spent lot of time to establish this divine and holy shrine of Lord Jagannath.
Architecture
Jagannath Temple is one of the Hindu deity temples in the state of Odisha. Looking at the architectural point of view, the main building of the temple had been built in the Pancharath style of Hindu Temple. On the doom, the stone carving was done showing nine planets.

Nayagarh train is connected to Bhubaneswar railway station. From the railway station, local transports such as auto rickshaws are available to reach to Jagannath Temple.

Nayagarh is 78 kilometers far away by road from Bhubaneswar. There are many A/C; Non-A/C transport facilities are available for Nayagarh. The bus may take maximum of 1.45 hours.

Significance Of This Temple
The Jagannath Temple of Nayagarh celebrates the small and the big festivals such as Rath Yatra and Snana Yatra. The temple has the idols of the Trinity along with the Sudarshan Chakra. During Snana Yatra many devotees bath on the Purnima (full moon day). It is regarded as the holiest bath. Therefore thousands of people visit this temple and purify them taking holy bath.
