Tamilnadu Satyanarayana Perumal Temple
The Satyanarayana Perumal Temple is a divine form of Lord Vishnu, located near the famous Ayodhaya Mandap in Srinivasa Pillai Street, West Mambalam locality, Chennai. The temple is road opposite to the Vinayagar temple bus stop in Arya Gowda Road. The Satyanarayana Perumal Temple is devoted to Sri Vishnu who has taken the form of Lord Satyanarayana Perumal along with the Divine Mother Shakti as Mahalakshmi Thayar.
In front of the main temple, there is a big idol of Maha Lakshmi. Idols of Lord Ram along with his wife Sita, brother Lakshmana and devotee Hanuman are placed. During Purnima day of each month, devotee visits the temple to perform and attend Satya Narayana Pooja with a belief that Lord Vishnu will shower grace and blessing to their family.
History
The only kind of Lord Sathyanaraya Perumal divine form of Vishnu is sanctified at West Mambalam, Chennai (T Nagar). According to belief, 'Narayana' is Lord Vishnu's most preferred name prefixed by 'Satya' considered as a primary incarnation of Vishnu's true form. The devotees Seshadhri Bhattachariar and Ratan Das have built this temple for Lord Anjaneya under a Banyan tree in West Mambalam. Later after several years Ratan Das has given the affairs of the temple to Seshadhri and surrendered his power over the temple.

On every Pournami night, Lord Satya Narayana Puja is performed in koil and Utsav that comes in Mada Veethigal in Chandra prabha vahanam. The famous rituals that are popular at temple are festivals like: Chithrai pournami, muthangi sevai, garuda sevai, nammal war utsavam, nrisiha jayanti vizha, andal pirandanal, sir desikar utsava, navarathiri and Sri Rama navami. Large number of pilgrims attends this temple on all these auspicious days.
