Uttar Pradesh Hanuman Temple Varanasi
Exact location of this temple is Panki which is historical and associated with the Saint Valmiki. It is believed that at this place Hanumanji chanted the name of Lord Rama. Every Khand of Ramayana is not completed without the description of Hanumanji is not considered completed. In this place an excellently constructed temple of Hanumanji is located. A large number of devotees across the country gather here to celebrate the Hanuman Jayanti and to get the blessings. This temple was constructed in the highly elevated base. The foundation was laid down during the reign of Raja Hindu Singh of the area namely “Kanhapur” later transformed as Kanpur. Foundation stone of this temple was laid by Shri Purshottam Das Ji. It is also believed that once Shri Purshottam Das ji was on his way to Bithoor where the holy ashram of Saint Valmiki was. His vehicle struck from a harder object. He saw there an idol of Hanumanji was lying. By the divine messaging, he got message to pick that idol and establish properly. Before reaching Bithoor, the cart was again stopped and bullocks were also not able to fetch it. Mahant got the point that it was orders of idol. He got orders from divine that on that place the idol has to be established. Mahant established the idol of Hanuman Ji at this place when he was just away 15 kilometers from Bithoor. The place was become famous with the name of Panki and presently a large numbers of devotees across the country reach here to celebrate Hanuman Jayanti every year in the month of June.
Architecture
This temple is built in pure north Indian style of construction. There are three towers provided in straight triangular shape. Central tower is larger and two others are constructed on both sides. The base of the temple is highly elevated place and out of reach of any flood incident. Main entrance is just under the central tower and has a huge gate. Inside the temple, various sculptures have been made and self explanatory about the story of construction of this temple. Connecting road is also one of the amenities for devotees coming from far flung areas. Garbhagriha of the temple is having a huge idol of Hanumanji as a symbol of Shakti and devotion to Lord Rama. Left tower has also a boundary wall separating it to nearby building. Central tower has moldings and arches made over the square shaped hollow structure. Four such layers and again a square hollow structure as a base to final triangular tower constructed over it. This is also the planning and design of other two towers but only smaller in size. Behind the towers there is a large central hall to conduct various types of religious activities. The hall is also provisioned with the verandahs on both sides for ease of devotees. Total three entrances have been made in the temple.
Festival
Hanuman Jayanti is the main festival organised at this temple. On every Tuesday of June each year, a large number of devotees gather here from all the parts of the country to celebrate this festival with great zeal and devotion. Ram Navmi is another festival of this temple.

By Air
Kanpur is the nearest airport and located at 10 kilometers from this temple. From airport itself, Taxies and auto rickshaws are easily available to reach this place.
By Rail
Kanpur central and Panki are the nearest railway station for the devotees coming from all the sides. Road conveyance is easy from the station to reach this temple as the distance from Panki is 6 kilometers and from Kanpur railway station is 10 kilometers. Panki Railway station has rush always because of the central point of daily transportation. From starting point of Panki over bridge, auto rickshaws are also available to reach temple.
By Road
If a devotee proceeding from Kanpur, he will have to move on national highway No 2 towards Delhi and after 11 kilometers, this temple is located. Buses and auto rickshaws are easily available on affordable charges. From Sachendi bus station, UPSTC buses ply to this temple.
