Uttar Pradesh Sharwandevi Temple
Hardoi city is not only famous for its unique culture and tradition but also for its various ancient Hindu worship places. The renowned Sharwandevi Mandir or temple is among one of them. It is considered among the local Shakti kshetra in the district. This Devi temple is frequented by thousands of visitors every year. According to Hindu mythology, Goddess Sharwandevi is one of the incarnations of goddess Durga. Moreover, Sharwandevi symbolizes the female spiritual power in the universe.
History
The renowned Sharwandevi temple was constructed about 200 years ago by a local landlord. It is a sacred Devi temple as well as Shakti shrine. The temple is not only famous for its religious significances but also for its incredible architecture. The temple building is divided into two section middle centre and main center. Inside the main centre a magnificent idol of Goddess Sharwandevi can be seen. Moreover, according to local legend, the location where present temple is situated was once said to be a forest area and visited by Sharwandevi. People said that Goddess Sharwandevi also visit the temple during the festival of Navaratri.
Weather and time to visit
During winter the city becomes cold and temperature could drop down to 6 degree Celsius while in summer it may rise 45 degree Celsius. Hence, the best time to get there is from the month of March to October. However, follower of Goddess can also visit here during Navaratri festival.

Hardoi is well connected with other cities of the state by well-developed roads. So, from the railway station or airport, visitors or pilgrims can hire buses, cars and taxis to reach at the temple.
